Family Ministry

The Durham Filipino-Canadian Seventh-day Adventist Church Family Ministry aims to Strengthen marriages through Christ-centered principles, Promote family worhsip & spiritual growth at home, Foster intergenerational relationships within the church, Equip parents to disciple their children, and Prepare Families for the second coming of Christ.

1. Strengthen Marriages Through Christ-Centered Principles

Aligned with Fundamental Belief #23 – Marriage and the Family
Goal: Equip couples with biblical tools to build and maintain healthy, Christ-centered marriages through seminars, counseling, and ongoing support programs.

2. Promote Family Worship and Spiritual Growth at Home

Aligned with Fundamental Belief #11 – Growing in Christ & Belief #17 – Spiritual Gifts and Ministries
Goal: Encourage and resource families to make daily worship a central part of home life, nurturing a culture of prayer, Bible study, and mission within the household.

3. Foster Intergenerational Relationships Within the Church

Aligned with Fundamental Belief #14 – Unity in the Body of Christ
Goal: Develop initiatives that build connections between children, parents, grandparents, and single members to reflect the unity and diversity of God’s family

4. Equip Parents to Disciple Their Children

Aligned with Fundamental Belief #18 – The Gift of Prophecy & Belief #1 – The Holy Scriptures
Goal: Provide training and resources for parents to teach and model biblical values to their children, using inspired guidance from Scripture and the Spirit of Prophecy.

5. Prepare Families for the Second Coming of Christ

Goal: Inspire families to live in joyful expectation of Christ’s return by cultivating character, service, and readiness through practical mission-focused family life.
